Hi, I’m Donny Miller—Welcome to Fish Tank FAQ

I’ve spent the last 15 years with my hands underwater and loving almost all of it.

Like most people in this hobby, I started with a single tank and a lot of questions. Today, my home is a “fish room” in progress, currently featuring:

  • A 50-Gallon Community Tank: My main display and a constant lesson in social dynamics.
  • A 20-Gallon Long Planted Tank: Where I obsess over CO2 levels and aquascaping.
  • A 20-Gallon Breeder: My “testing lab” for new equipment and species.
  • A Nano Betta Tank: A small reminder of where it all began.

Why I Started Fish Tank FAQ

I’ll be honest: I’ve made every mistake you can make. I’ve dealt with pH crashes and ammonia spikes, fought losing battles with Bearded Algae, and spent way too much money on lights, filters, and hacks that just didn’t work.

I created this site because I got tired of seeing “advice” that was clearly written by people who have never owned a fish. Every guide, review, and tip on this site comes from one of two places: my personal workbench or 15 years of trial and error.

My “No-Nonsense” Promise

You won’t find “fluff” here. If a product is great, I’ll tell you why. If a piece of equipment is a waste of money, I’ll tell you that, too. My goal is to help you spend less time worrying about your water chemistry and more time enjoying your fish.

What you’ll find on Fish Tank FAQ:

  • Tested Reviews: I only recommend gear I would (or do) use in my own 50-gallon or 20-gallon setups.
  • Plain English Guides: No “science-speak” just for the sake of it. Just the facts you need to keep your fish healthy.
  • The “Why” Behind the “How”: I don’t just tell you what to do; I explain why it works so you can become a better fish keeper.
